Shorty
Now we haven't officially named him yet, but we're leaning toward "Shorty". So Shorty, meet everyone. Everyone, meet Shorty. He's six weeks old, covered in velvety puppy fur, and the sweetest little muffin you've ever had the pleasure of snorggling. We don't get to take him home for another 5 weeks or so, but after our visit with him today at the breeder's, it all seems so real! I'm back to regular wedding blogging tomorrow, but I'm too hopped up on puppy to focus on anything else tonight.

Aw! I totally have a new puppy crush! He's so cute! What kind of dog is he?

Anonymous on 11:41 AM

So cute! I love the color grey he is.

Oh what's not to LOVE! He's beautiful, congrats. A bit of practical advice: when we adopted our dog the shelter threw in a copy of "How to Housebreak Your Dog in Seven Days". You can get it at Amazon and I highly recommend it!!

Oh, so cute!

Our friends got an Italian greyhound puppy a couple of years ago, and I got to petsit for a month. He was a total sweetie and looked very similar to your Shorty. He loved to cuddle with us at night, though we'd wake up with him spooning me and all four of his pointy little paws in the Mr's ribs. :)

What a doll! I wish I could have a puppy, but I don't think my kittens would appreciate it.

Shorty is an Italian Greyhound, and thanks to everyone for the puppy-love! I'm totally getting that housetraining book.

An Iggie, an iggie! I hear they're real snugglers, who always want to be snoozing ON their owners, under the covers.

And you can litter box train them, too, for those days when it's too dreadful to take them for a walk.

Oh what a cutie! He looks like a little cupcake and I love his heart shaped nose. May I recommend http://www.lovecharlie.org -- a collection of beautiful, adorable photos of an Italian Greyhound ... it's an awesome site, I love browsing through the pictures... enjoy!!!!

I think I'm in love. Shorty is just too cute for words!

The bf and I were thinking of getting a puppy and I think now we need to get a little Italian Greyhound.

Omg... What a cutie.

He's adorable! But why, oh, why are you buying from a breeder when there are sooooo many adorable babies just like him being euthanized everyday at adoption centers-especially greyhounds!! please consider it!

Anonymous on 10:17 PM

Adorable, but I agree about the comment about breeders. Both my dogs come from shelters and they are the most wonderful pups in the world. Rescue dogs rock!

I'm thinking about getting an italian greyhound. Do they do well in apartments?

Mackenzie on 2:51 PM

Susie,
I would think they would do very well in apartments. Ours is definitely a house dog, and he loves to be cozy, he doesn't need that much space to be happy. If you lived in a 5th floor walk up, I might say that housetraining would be difficult, but when isn't it? He does need some good walks during the day, and a place where he can run around outside off-leash is great too, even if it's a fenced dog park.
